Last Full Day

I had to work today.  I have decided to take a half day off to prepare for people to come by tonight and say goodbye.  And then a half day tomorrow to say farewell to my little German girl.

The bags are mostly packed.  I had to go to sleep last night while she finished up.  She worked into the wee hours of the morning, so she's still asleep.  Not sure if she got everything  completely weighed out perfectly or not.  We are going to need to send a small box of things... mostly trinkets and presents we've gathered from our travels.

We spent yesterday shopping.  I introduced Jule to Cracker Barrel restaurant.  It's a chain restaurant that is popular for its feeling.  You can sit in rocking chairs and wait outside for your table, or you can wander around the store inside and ooh and ahh at all the cute things.  Or you can play "name that candle scent" with Jule since her nose works and mine does not.  At your table there are games to play while you wait for your food.  It's eating and shopping and entertainment all in one!

It was a good last lunch out together.  Somehow we often manage to order the exact same thing... same thing to drink, same entree, same side items.  We both had grilled chicken with sides of green beans, dumplings and hash brown casserole.

We also hit Target (or TAR-ZHAY as we call it) where Jule got her going away present from Grandpa John.  He had told me to look for a scarf for her from him, and I'd yet to find one that would be Jule approved.  We happened upon a 70% off clearance on a very special designer scarf by Marc Jacobs.  A $70 scarf for $20!!!!!  So she got a black scarf to add to her collection!
We also hit a big sale at Dillard's and JC Penney.  These are two stores that Jule likes here in the U.S.

I'm heading out to get a few of Jule's favorite things for her farewell tonight.  We'll have  appetizers... cheesecake, white cheese dip and chips from Casa Mexicana, spinach artichoke dip and pita chips and maybe a few other things.

Yes, I'm still crying today.  Luckily I'm working at home.
